Description

Sankt Pauli Church and Community Center is located near both Redbergsplatsen and Olskrokstorget in Gothenburg, in an area where many people pass by daily.

The church is a vibrant meeting place with a rich worship life and many different activities throughout the week. People gather here for worship, community, conversation, and much more.

Those who meet at Sankt Pauli are engaged individuals of various ages, from different backgrounds and traditions, but with the same longing to see “a Christian community created and deepened, God’s kingdom spread, and creation restored.” The congregation has become a home for many, and our aim is for the staff to not be a group apart from this community, but very much a part of the whole.

The congregation is led by the parish priest and has 12 employees with various professions, of which two are deacons.

About the Position

We are looking for you who are an ordained deacon and want a meaningful and varied job where you, together with the congregation, can express your faith in Jesus and life as his disciple through serving in various ways, with a particular focus on youth, families, and vulnerable individuals.

With us, you will have a versatile and significant role with great breadth. You will contribute to the congregation's inner life, for example by regularly serving in the mass and leading devotions, and to the congregation's outreach work through contacts with people in various life situations and by seeking collaboration with other community actors.

We are looking for someone who

• is an ordained deacon according to the Church of Sweden's order
• has a commitment to children, youth, and families
• is confident, attentive, and relationship-building
• enjoys working both independently and in close collaboration with others
• has the ability to lead and coordinate, and wants to find creative ways to work with volunteers in diaconal work

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
